CBA Alternatives
Alternatives are the options being compared. The comparison is only useful when alternatives are realistic enough to be selected.
Alternative fields
- Name: short label for the option.
- Description: what the option includes and excludes.
- Source: manual, AI, SWOT, SPE, document, or previous decision.
- Feasibility status: feasible, under review, or rejected.
- Notes: concerns, dependencies, or context.
Feasibility rule
Rejected alternatives can remain in the model for traceability, but the team should not let rejected options dominate scoring. If an alternative violates a must-have requirement, document the reason and decide whether to archive it or keep it as a comparison reference.
AI suggestions
AI can suggest alternatives, but suggestions are draft options. The user must verify feasibility, constraints, and source assumptions before using those alternatives in the attribute matrix.
Integration points
Alternatives may later be seeded from SWOT strategies or SPE strategy results. When that happens, the imported option should retain its source and still pass the CBA feasibility review.
