How to Use Albarena

A detailed companion to the one-page guide: identity, personal space, workspaces, supported methods and tools, collaboration, and transparent outcomes.

Start with your identity

Create your user account and choose a stable @username. Your username helps teammates reference you in workspace conversations with @mentions, while your user ID remains the stable identity behind the scenes.

Prepare evidence in your personal space

Your personal space is where you organize working material before collaboration. Use it to upload files, keep private notes, and link reference papers from the library.

Create a decision workspace

A workspace is where the actual decision work happens. In a workspace you can chat with the AI Assistant, use files and references as evidence, and work with transparent decision methods, assessment tools, and operational tools.

Today Albarena supports these methods and tools:

  • SWOT: understand the situation before choosing.
  • Scenario Planning: explore plausible futures, critical uncertainties, robust options, and warning signals.
  • Decision Matrix: rank alternatives with weighted criteria.
  • CBA: compare alternatives by advantages.
  • SPE: model drivers, processes, outcomes, scenarios, and simulation.
  • Project Viability: test monthly cash flow, funding needs, returns, downside cases, and go/no-go readiness before committing resources.
  • Data Profiling: inspect CSV structure, missingness, duplicates, types, outliers, and patterns before using a dataset in analysis or a decision model.
  • Learning Organization: assess learning-organization maturity, collect participant perspectives, interpret results, and focus improvement actions.
  • Collaborative Facilitation: facilitate group form responses, brainstorming, alternative selection, arguments, voting, agreement, ratification, and downstream handoff.
  • Risk & Assumption Stress Test: challenge load-bearing assumptions, compare participant assessments, govern threats and opportunities, define controls and signposts, and authorize residual exposure explicitly.
  • Stakeholder, Participation & Ecosystem Mapping: map actors and affected interests, preserve direct and proxy voice, examine ecosystem relationships, design accessible participation, and expose representation gaps before proceeding.
  • Theory of Change & Outcome Pathway: connect activities and outputs to outcomes, test causal links and assumptions, organize evidence and indicators, and preserve contribution and attribution limits.

Collaborate through organizations and groups

An organization can contain multiple groups. Each group can contain multiple workspaces. Inside a shared workspace, teammates can discuss, mention each other, attach evidence, refine AI suggestions, work with methods and tools, and create reports.

Outcome

The goal is not only a chat response. The goal is transparent, shared decision work: evidence, assumptions, methods, and outputs that people can inspect, challenge, and improve before choosing a path, redesigning the situation, or reframing the problem.
